Best Toddler Outdoor Kitchen and Water Table
I grew always playing outside on nice day, cold days, rainy days, even snowy days while growing up in Buffalo, NY. We would play outside until it got dark out or Momma called us in for supper. I loved to play and create outside. Our boys love to be outside too. They love to be on the back porch- cooking, building, fixing. So this past Spring my husband and I decided to get them an outdoor kitchen with a water table built in by Step 2. Let me tell you about why it is a great purchase.
I really like that it has a grill on one side with a sink, two water tables then a side table. My 3 year old loves to enter the doors carrying his kitchen stuff bin and get cooking! He can easily be entertained for 30-60 minutes at a time. In the hot summer months of the South, he drenched himself in the water table play. He would ask us to fill up the bucket of water to pour in it. We used water on both side because I am not really a fan of sand. (I have some strong childhood memories of unpleasant bugs buried deep in our sand pit.) Now that the baby is 15 months, it is perfect height for the cruising-not-yet-walking young toddler. He very much loves to do EVERYTHING big bubba does. Sometimes his jealously is a little much, but cute.
Another favorite is the canopy that is on top to protect from the sun, a light rain or wind. It was great in the heat during the midday sun. I took Big Bubba outside while the baby napped in the summer. He was fairly protected with the canopy. I just angled the side with the sun away from whatever area he was in. Easy to move and relocate. We have ours set up on our back deck that is off our main living area.
It comes with some grilling tools, but I supplemented ours with these grilling tools from Melissa and Doug. We also use our bath toys in the summer months outside for more water play fun. I also have a few kiddie chairs he can use, similar to these. With the grill, fake food, and water play, say hello to outside play for hours.
